EEC/SGA Movie Night
The Center for Environmental Education and the Student Government Association would like to invite you to attend The Global Climate Change Movie Night on January 30, 2008. The movie night kicks off with a documentary called The 11th Hour at 4:45 pm in Breckinridge Hall room 002. "The 11th Hour" is narrated by environmental activist Leonardo DiCaprio. The Center for Environmental Education encourages everyone to attend to learn more about Gloabl Climate change and ways that you can positively impact the future of our planet. For professor looking for ways to intergrate environmental education into the classroom the center for Environmental Education can assist my developing a assessment specific to the course. The Center for Environmental Education and Student Government Association is also sponsoring a on-line poll for student, faculty, and staff to vote on measures that they would like to see MSU take to curb greenhouse gas emissions. The on-line poll will be available through the Center for Environmental Educations web site on January 31st. Then on February 1st, an Environmental Conservation blog will go live. The blog will provide an a forum for members of the campus community to discuss a variety of environmental topics and solutions to improving the environment. The blog will have several links to provide information on current environmental related topics.
Morehead State University's channel 55 will be showing 'The Artic Tale' during the month of January. The film, narrated by Queen Latifah, follows the dual drama of Seela and Nanu, a walrus calf and polar bear cub, as they embark on their astonishing journey from infancy to maturity amidst the stark beauty of the Arctic landscape.
Protected by mothers who will stop at nothing to ensure their safe passage to adulthood, both cubs romp in their cold playground as ever-present threats of starvation, predators, and a harsh homeland are overcome in an unrelenting life-and-death struggle to survive.
